A paper quilt and accompanying artist book produced during a month-long Risograph residency — both rooted in the study of pattern as a design and cultural language. Drawing from wallpaper and textile motifs, patterns were developed, printed in large batches on the Risograph, and assembled by hand into a patchwork structure referencing American quilt traditions.
The artist book functions as a swatch book: holding pattern samples sewn directly onto stock paper so individual swatches lift from the page. Samples printed across different colored stocks are stacked in a cascading sequence revealing the same motif shifting across color and surface. Pages are bound with a prong fastener, intentionally allowing removal, reorganization, and addition. The book is designed to remain open.
